“What a Catch, Donnie” – Patrick Stump [Fall Out Boy] (2008)

I love the monthly web show ‘Live from Daryl’s House’ with Daryl Hall, the soulful half of Hall & Oates, inviting different guest singers and songwriters into his home to play with Hall and his top-notch band of veteran musicians accompanying. The show features well-known established artists as well as newcomers.

One of my favorite performances is with Fall Out Boy singer, Patrick Stump and the song “What a Catch, Donnie”. Stump provides a mesmerizing highlight of his talent with double-duty on lead vocals and drums. Hall shares lead vocals with Stump and the combination of their matched voices along with the strong backing harmonies create an emotional and soulful performance. Each camera shot captures the relaxed confidence of Hall’s band. Every musician skillfully playing for the song and collectively making you realize the powerful result of teaming a superior band with a well-written song and talented singers delivering dynamic vocal performances.
